Planetary Atmosphere – Part 2 [Atlantica Galaxy]

Exploring the Atlantica Galaxy

  • I've created a material that is used for atmosphere when the player is traveling through outer space.
  • The actual atmosphere is active only when the player character is in the planet's sphere of gravity.
  • This should allow me to have atmospheres for thousands of planets in the galaxy.

Planetary Atmosphere [Atlantica Galaxy]

Planetary Atmosphere

  • The planetary atmosphere is still a work in progress.
  • When moving at extreme speeds, the atmosphere lags behind the planet's location. I might add a translucent sphere around the planet when the player is in space, and then replace it with the atmosphere when the player is in the planet's gravity sphere.
  • I also need to make the atmosphere less transparent.

The Volumetric Nebula Scaled at 1 Billion on the X, Y, and Z [Atlantica Galaxy]

Volumetric Nebula

  • I've scaled the volumetric nebula at 1 billion on the X, Y, and Z float vector nodes.
  • Unfortunately, it's too small to see and it disappears after moving about 500 to 1,000 km away from it.
  • When I try to scale it to 10 billion it doesn't render at all. My planets are one-tenth the size of Earth and my stars are one-tenth the size of Sol.
  • I need to find a way to scale up the nebulas much, much more significantly.
